History
Our family lived on a 230-acre Cattle Ranch till 1988, we had 130 head of Beef Cattle, had 4 Horses, and bailed about 5,000 bails of oats each year ourselves off of the property. My Father, and two older brothers built and managed the Ranch.
In 1988 we sold the ranch and purchased 2 parcels. One with an unfinished home, and the other a bare lot that we built the house I live in now with my Father, Uncle, and my two brothers. At age 14, I was framing, wiring, and roofing. This landed me my first Job at age 15 working for a General Contractor after school and on weekends making $8.00 an hour back when minimum wage was $5.75.
At 17 years old, I enlisted into the US Army, as an 11B. Was assigned as a door gunner on a UH-60L at the 101st Airborne. Spent two and a half years active duty, then finished five- and one-half years in the reserves.
When I left the Army, I came home to get my General Contractors License, and worked with my oldest brother till I started in the Insurance Business with my Father in 1997. At that time, I was beginning my Junior Year at the University of The Pacific, Stockton, CA. I sold my first life policy to my older brother, a $100,000 Whole Life with American United Life Ins Co. My brother, who stayed in the construction field, was killed 3 months later while on a job. He was my first sale, and my first death claim. He was at that time my best friend.
Since then, 23 years later, I have served on a Naifa Board every year. Worked 5 years as a volunteer at the California Youth Authority, decided that my time would be better invested at the Boys & Girls Club of Lodi, I served 10 years on the board, and resigned after being the board chair. Since then, I have been recruited to serve on my other boards:
Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, 10 years
Lodi Police Foundation, 10 years
Lodi Crime Stoppers, 10 years
GOT Kids “Giving opportunities to kids” Raising money for Lodi Unified School District for field trips. 4 years
In my 23 years in the business, 5 years at AUL, 15 at NYL, and 3 with Guardian, I have been Chairman’s Council at NYL, Leaders Club with Guardian and Court of the Table and made many other productions awards.
You may ask what qualifies me to be your financial advisor. It is simple. I am not afraid of working hard, and I strongly believe in giving back to the Industry. My wife and I run a business together, we also have 6 children, with three Daughter-in-Laws in the very near future, and I believe I am only as good as the team I work with. My goal is to work with clients to help them find solutions to meet their needs.
